Brandon and Brittany Lake Embark on New Literary Journey with “Little Lion Lungs”

Brandon Lake and his wife Brittany have recently opened an exciting new chapter as authors, releasing their debut children’s book, “Little Lion Lungs.” The couple, who live in South Carolina, took a well-deserved break in New York, leaving their three boys with family. This getaway provided much-needed relaxation, beginning with room service, as shared by Brandon, a Grammy-winning Christian artist, in an interview with PEOPLE.

“We immediately ordered room service,” Brandon chuckled. “Most of the time I’m traveling alone, but it’s nice to spend this time together.”

Their new project, “Little Lion Lungs,” is a heartwarming children’s book following the adventures of Levi the Lion cub, imparting valuable lessons about gratitude. Brittany shared that Brandon had been thinking about writing this book for over a year. “I saw his passion for it, and when he shared the storyline, I encouraged him to go for it,” she explained. The book, which originated from a clothing line inspired by Brandon’s hit song “Gratitude,” has blossomed into a beautiful story aimed at helping families grow not just through music but through inspiring narratives.

“Little Lion Lungs” is more than just a charming tale; it carries a deeper message about teaching children to embrace their innate ability to worship. “This book can show children that they are created to be worshipers,” Brandon shared. “Despite the distractions of the world, our true purpose is to worship God.”

Creating the book has been a bonding experience for the Lakes. Brandon praised Brittany, calling her the “queen of our home” and crediting her for her unwavering support in both his music career and this project. “It’s truly a family ministry,” he added.

The Lake family’s life has also expanded to include farming. Brandon humorously refers to himself as “Farmer Brandon” after buying a cow named Billy for Brittany’s birthday. Their backyard farm has become a new passion, adding a touch of rural charm to their lives.

“I bought Brittany a cow, and now Billy has become our farm baby,” Brandon laughed. “Being a cowboy is my new goal in life.” Brittany expressed her pride in Brandon’s journey, saying, “I’m so proud of him. He was made for this. He’s natural at what he does and loves people well.”

Their children have also embraced “Little Lion Lungs,” with their oldest proudly sharing the book at school during buddy reading sessions. Looking ahead, Brandon is excited about spending quality time with his family before hitting the road for the Summer Worship Nights tour and the Tear Off the Roof Tour later this year.

“As a family, we’re planning to relax at the beach and disconnect,” Brandon shared. “Then, I’m eager to work on new music. Family and creativity are what fuel me.”

For the Lake family, life is a harmonious blend of faith, creativity, and love, with a touch of farming thrown in for good measure. The release of “Little Lion Lungs” marks the beginning of a new, enriching journey for the couple, one that combines their passions and extends their ministry beyond music.
