Jennie Garth was among the several former co-stars who honored Shannen Doherty after her passing. Garth really posted on Instagram on Sunday about her immense grief over the death of her long-time friend and fellow “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress.Along with a photo of the two of them from their 1990s “90210,” Garth wrote: “I am still processing my tremendous loss over the demise of my long-term friend Shannen, the lady I have often regarded as one of the strongest people I have ever encountered. We had a real and honest friendship.Garth also brought up the well-known rumors of disagreement between her and Doherty during their program. She revealed on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” in 2019 that they once got into a furious argument, nearly leading to a physical fight. Still, the two reconciled and preserved their friendship.
Garth remarked, “We often set ourselves against each other, but that didn’t reflect the true nature of our relationship, which was based on mutual respect and admirability.” She was driven, courageous, quite loving, bold, and giving. I will miss her constantly, and she will be very dear to my heart and memory. Her family, Bowie, and all the people she loved bring tears to my eyes. This poignant dedication paid tribute to Bowie, Doherty’s beloved dog, who was by her side at her death. Shannen Doherty passed away on Saturday at the age of 53 following an extended cancer battle. In 2015, Doherty received a breast cancer diagnosis; she underwent treatment and achieved remission in 2017, only for the cancer to resurface and spread to her bones in 2019.Among other former co-stars honoring Doherty were Alyssa Milano from “Charmed,” Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Carol Potter, and Brian Austin Green (all from “Beverly Hills, 90210”). Garth’s honor highlights her tight bond with Doherty, despite their on-set conflict. She considered Doherty to be a powerful and compassionate person who touched everyone she came across. Garth’s message reminds us of the real, sometimes complicated relationships behind Hollywood’s scenes.
