Rob Lowe remembers friendly boxing sessions with Tom Cruise.

Actor Rob Lowe thought back on his early years shooting “The Outsiders” with Tom Cruise on a recent visit on the Rich Eisen Show From their stay on site, Lowe related a memorable and competitive event: impromptu boxing workouts in the hotel corridor. Both performers, at 17, were high in testosterone and energy, which produced lively sparring contests. Lowe had “pipe cleaner arms,” but he landed a clean shot on Cruise, who subsequently knocked him out cold. Lowe delightedly remembered their young antics and compared them to a real-life “Fight Club.”

Lowe also spoke of their friendship, running and working out with Emilio Estevez. Emphasizing Cruise’s great focus and competitive attitude even from a young age, he jokingly remembered how he responded when they found they had to share a room at The Plaza Hotel during tryouts. Now hosting Fox’s “The Floor” and starring in “9-1-1: Lone Star,” Lowe looks back on these events with a combination of nostalgia and entertainment.
